이탈리아 소년 가수의 선두주자 "Robertino Loretti"의 대표곡인 

"Lettera A Pinocchio(피노키오의 편지)".

당시 1961년도에 발표한 노래로 꼬마답지

않게 뛰어나게 소화한 노래로 소년의 순수함에

흠뻑 젖어들 수 있었던 노래로 유명하다. 이곡은

1943년도에 제작된 월트디즈니 애니메이션 시리즈

"피노키오" 중 피노키오의 친구 귀뚜라미인  

지미니 크리켓이 불렀던 곡이기도 하다

이 세상에 부모속 한번 안썩이고 살아온 사람이 어디 있을까만, 
피노키오 마냥 부모속을 어지간이도 썩이고 살아온 탓일까? 
어느결에 나도 중년이 되어버린 지금에야 비로소, 그 회한이 멧돌처럼 무겁게 가슴을 짓누른다. 
피노키오- 목공인 제페토 할아버지가 만들었던 목각인형, 
자신에게 생명력을 불어넣어준 제페토 할아버지의 보살핌과 기대를 저버리고 나쁜 친구들의 꾀임에 빠져 
타락의 길을 걷는 목각인형 피노키오에서, 창조주의 기대와 사랑을 등진 채 
일그러진 역사를 반복하는 피조물,인간의 모습이 연상된다는 것이다.
이 노래 `피노키오의 편지`는 어린 시절에 라디오에서 간간이 들었던 칸초네인데, 
그 시절 디즈니의 만화영화로 봤던 피노키의 영상과 함께 매칭되어, 
이 나이 먹어서도 이 노래의 기억은 아직 싱싱하게 남아있다. 
그 동심의 시절에 새겨진 꿈과 감동을 떠올릴 때의 설레임이란... 대단한 피노키오, 대단한 월트 디즈니.
 
 맑고 애조띈 목소리 때문에, 나 어릴적에는 이 노래를 부른 가수가 분명 여자인줄로만 알고있었는데... 
웬걸, 그게 아니었다. 음악에는 별 조예가 없는 큰누나 집에서 고등학교때 이 레코드를 발견하고 
반가움에 자켓을 읽어보니 `로베르티노`라는 이태리 소년이 노래하고 있었다.

이태리 특유의 다정다감한 느낌과 함께 내 어린시절의 환상이던 피노키오의 동화적 정서가 
녹아 들어있는 까닭에 이렇게 중년이 되어서도 피노키오의 편지가 가끔씩 듣고싶은 것이다.
